Do you know the Holi story? Well, you've come to the right person! That's me, Ritz! Once upon a time, there was a boy named Prahlad. He had a father who was a demon named Hiranyakashyap. His father hated him because he always worshiped Lord Vishnu, (An Indian God) and not him. He always tried to kill his son. He never succeeded though. One day, the father put his own son in a fire with his own sister, Holika. Fortunately, his attempt did not go to a success and Holika died in the fire. Prahlad was always remained alive because of Lord Vishnu. Vishnu came to Prahlad and gave him a blessing that he will live as long as he wishes and will die when he wishes. Lord Vishnu only protects the good, not the evil. Despite being the son of a demon king, Prahlad was kind, truthful, and loyal to god. Hiranyakashyap also died. Vishnu's avatar, Narsimha, ripped open Hiranyakashyap's chest and killed him. Hiranyakashyap was an evil person, so he died.

The Indian festival of Holi is celebrated to show the truth's triumph over evil. Every year, this joyous festival is on a different day. This festival depends on the Indian Calendar. It changes every year. In English, Holi is called The Festival of Colors. What people in India do to celebrate Holi is wear bright and coloful clothing to show that the truth is colorful, (not brown, black, white, or gray) eat a BUNCH of Indian sweets to show that the truth is sweet and not sour, throw colored powder on friends and family, (that might actually seem fun to you) and go to temples (especially in the evening) to go and pray to Lord Vishnu, one of India's three main gods. (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.) Holi is a fun festival to celebrate with your family! Try it sometime!
